The Ellington Library Staff and Board of Trustees, according to their NYS Safety Guidelines Plan, have decided to close the library for a period of two weeks starting October 14.
There have currently been no positive cases of Covid or symptoms identified within the library staff but close family members have tested positive therefore we thought it prudent to close to ensure the safety of our patrons. The library will be thoroughly cleaned using NYS Covid approved cleaning practices.
Any items you have currently checked out from our library will have due dates extended another 2 weeks. Please do not return your books to our bookdrop as it is small and we are concerned of damage to items due to overcrowding in the box. You may choose to return your items to other libraries or hold them for another 2 weeks. Other libraries are still open and you may use your library card at any of the 38 libraries within the Chautauqua Cattaraugus Library System.
If you are awaiting any holds and they have not been placed in transit already you may change the pickup location to another library.
We appreciate your patience at this time as the staff and Board do everything to make sure that our library is ready to serve you again when we reopen on October 27th.
