Building the Alaskan Highway: In 1942, thousands of American soldiers began one of the biggest and most  difficult construction projects ever undertaken across the rugged sub-Arctic wilderness of Alaska, British Columbia and Yukon Territory. They built a 1,520 mile road across one of the world’s harshest landscapes. Interviews with the men who were there, archival footage and beautiful cinematography produced by  American Experience Productions and brought to you by PBS Programming. Registration is required.
